Hints and Tips

Planning for an adventure bike trip is an exciting process! To ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, here are some essential items to pack:

Essential Gear

  • Helmet: A good quality helmet is a must for safety.
  • Jacket and Gloves: Wear a protective jacket and gloves to shield yourself from the elements and potential falls.
  • Boots: Sturdy boots that cover your ankles provide necessary protection. Motocross boots are highly recommended.
  • Riding Suit: A full riding suit offers additional protection and comfort (not required for trips).

Hydration and Snacks

  • Camelbak or Hydration Backpack: Keep hydrated with a Camelbak or similar hydration system.
  • Water Bottles: If you don’t have a hydration backpack, don’t worry. Simply bring water bottles for hydration on the go.
  • Snacks: Pack energy bars, nuts, and dried fruits to keep your energy levels up.

Safety and Maintenance

Although we do carry tools and a medical kit, here are some options to consider:

  • Medication: If you take any prescription medications, ensure you have an adequate supply.
  • Sunscreen: Protect your skin from the harsh sun with a high-SPF sunscreen.
  • Spare Tube: If you’re running tubed tires, bring a spare tube.
  • Tyre Levers: Essential for changing or repairing tires.
  • Tyre Inflating Bombs: These are handy for quick tire inflation on the go.
  • Multi-Tool: A motorcycle-specific multi-tool can help with various on-the-spot repairs.

Personal Items

  • Clothing: Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for riding and comfortable clothes for the evenings.
  • Toiletries: Bring your essential toiletries, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and any personal hygiene products.
  • Wallet and Identification: Ensure you have your wallet, ID, and any necessary travel documents.

Navigation and Communication

  • GPS : A reliable GPS device is not needed, but we can share GPX files up front to help you better navigate the routes.
  • Mobile Phone: Keep your phone charged and consider carrying a portable charger.
  • Helmets Comms: These are not a requirement, but some folks like to chat or listen to music while riding.

Extras

  • Camera: Capture the stunning landscapes and memorable moments.
  • Rain Gear: Waterproof gear can be a lifesaver in unexpected weather.
  • Camping Equipment: If your trip includes camping, pack lightweight camping gear.
